About Us
We cater for students with a range of special needs that include Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe learning Difficulties (SLD) and pupils with ASD and complex needs. These students will have a wide range of associated learning needs as well as a complex profile of additional and overlapping needs, including but not limited to; complex presentation of speech, language and communication needs, therapeutic requirements and a range of health challenges.
At Windmill Hill School, we acknowledge the uniqueness of all pupils. Developing awareness and understanding of our students is paramount. Therefore, we place great emphasis on training, CPD and working holistically with students, parents, carers and extended teams to represent the views of our school community, particularly those of our students.
OUR MISSION
We aim to equip all learners with confidence, skills, resilience, and high aspirations in order to lead happy, fulfilling lives in an ever-changing world.
OUR VISION
‘Bring Life to Learning and Learning to Life’: To develop understanding and skills that are applicable and meaningful to real-life contexts; thus enabling personal success and preparation for adulthood.
Social Capital: To develop the links and support networks that an individual has around them to support emotional health and wellbeing (Me, We, Our, Your) in order to become positive members of society.
Quality of Life: To develop confident, resilient adults with the ability to meet their personal aspirations for the future, whether that be a path to employment, or to actively contribute, challenge and make a difference to their community
OUR CORE VALUES
The Windmill Hill School core values define the culture of our school community, characterising the ethos that informs collaboration, and binds our effective learning community together. These core values embody what it means to be a member of the Windmill Hill School community, and therefore underpin all aspects of our curriculum offer. The core values define how we expect all staff and students to conduct themselves on a day-to-day basis and act as a guide to promote safe and positive behaviour.
